Barça Set to Play Inaugural Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou over the weekend

Barcelona have announced they are set to host at the partially upgraded Camp Nou on Saturday. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in La Liga over two years following their departure to allow renovations to start.

“We envisioned this comeback. The moment has arrived. Home again at Spotify Camp Nou.”

Attendance will be limited but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch under the licence granted. When completed, the Camp Nou is due to hold over 104,000 attendees, a rise from the old capacity. Barça announced completed upgrades featured a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout at the Camp Nou in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission by UEFA for their upcoming Champions League fixture versus the German side on 9 December at the stadium. They have been hosting matches in the temporary ground.
