British boxer Anthony Joshua Discharged from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Deadly Car Crash
Former heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua has been released from care, local government spokespeople confirmed on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident in the Lagos area on the 29th of December, a horrific crash that resulted in the deaths of two of his close associates.
Healing from Light Wounds
The boxer had remained in the hospital while healing from his light wounds, his promoter had said on Monday. A government official, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement online that Joshua was declared medically stable to “recuperate at home”.
“Joshua and his mother were at the funeral home in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two departed friends as they were being prepared for repatriation,” Omotosho said.
A Tribute to the Fallen
The two men who died were named as Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a strength and conditioning coach. Omotoso added that the boxer was “heavy-hearted and deeply emotional over the passing of his two dear friends.”
This update on his health arrives after the sports world shared condolences for the champion in the following the heartbreaking incident.
